Bengaluru International airport (BIA) is a new airport maintained and operated by Bengaluru International airport Limited (BIAL), which started operating since May 2008. Bangalore International Airport, the gateway to India's silicon valley, is situated to the north of Bangalore on the National Highway 7 and is 40 kms from the city’s central business district and 45kms from the old Airport (HAL). Meru Cabs and Easy Cabs are the two official taxi operators at the Bengaluru International Airport. Airport taxi service can be availed at the airport for travel to Bengaluru city and vice versa. You can book online before reaching Bangalore. Rates are reasonable (at the rate of 15 INR per km plus any waiting charges if applicable). Payment for the services can be made at the end of the journey in exchange for a printed electronic receipt, based on time and the distance traveled. Apart from these, other taxi services are available to drop or to receive you. Bangalore International Airport offers parking facilities and has approximate 2000 car capacity. Short term (less than 4 hrs) and long term parking facilities are available with rates ranging from 40 INR.

Shuttle bus service (AC Volvo= Vayu Varja and Non A/C-Suvarna) from Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) operates every 30 min. connecting the various points in the city. The approximate journey time is 1.5 hours from most of the key business areas in the city and the fares are for A.C. Vayu Varja 200, 150, 125 and 100 INR and for Non A/C-Suvarna 100. 80, 50 INR depending on the point of boarding.

BMTC has introduces Home Connect Taxi Service Interface with BIAL Dedicated Bus Service which takes care of your travel from your place of stay to the nearest BIAL bus service boarding point & vice versa. The Taxi Fare per trip is Rs. 100/- for a hatchback Indica Type, Rs. 125/- for 3 box Indigo type to carry up to 4 passengers per trip & Rs. 230/- for a SUV to carry up to 6 passengers.
