Tourist Attraction in Bangalore (Lakes)

Yediyur Lake:
 

The lake is situated at Basavangudi area of Bangalore city. Boating and water scooter rides are available here. The greenish and peaceful surroundings catches the attention of the joggers. A nice sculpture of a girl by artist John Devaraj, is situated right at the middle of the lake. The lake is yet to catch the attention of tourists.

Ulsoor Lake:

 

This 125 acre extended lake was constructed during the second century by Kempe Gowda II.  It was called Halsur and Alasur in previous days. Boating is the major attraction of this lake. KSTDC has set up a boating club from where anyone can hire pedal or row boats. A public swimming pool is also there. Tourists can take a dip there for refreshment. The greenish environment and the adjoining Gurudwara are worth of watch. Ganesha festival is also celebrated here in the month of August-September. 

Sankey Tank :

 

This is a man made lake built in 1862 to meet the water supply demand of Bangalore. The tank was later developed with beautiful parks, swimming pool and landscape gardens to attract tourist.

Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC) developed a boating facility, opens everyday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Hebbel Lake

 
Hebbal lake is located in North Bangalore, on National Highway No.7. Hebbel Lake one of Bangalore’s picturesque lakes to attract tourists for its famous migrating birds.

Mariwala Lake

 
 

The Madivala Lake is located in South Bangalore with an area of 108 hectares. Boating facility is available everyday from 10 a.m.
